Chameleon Vintage
I’m the founder and owner of Chameleon Vintage — a vintage clothing business that specializes in bringing the feeling of shopping in Tokyo to my hometown San Francisco. We import archival pieces from Japanese designers such as Issey Miyake, Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto, Undercover, Number (N)ine, Hysteric Glamour, and more alongside affordable American vintage staples.
The origins of Chameleon began with my late father who was an avid collector of many things. He showed me how to appreciate craft, seek out treasure, and dive deep into what I find interesting. Since childhood, clothes has been my primary collection. As I’ve grown in and out of styles and cities and careers my obsession with clothes, always secondhand, has been my unwavering constant.
When the pandemic caused businesses to close in Japantown, my neighborhood, I felt called to take a leap of faith. The Japantown flagship started in 2022, with our Haight location following in 2023.
Chameleon was named one of the 30 best vintage menswear stores in the country by GQ.
